Tommy’s Discovery is the story of Little Tommy Turtle, who is worried about what will happen to him when his parents die. He feels he will be all alone and goes searching for an answer. His search includes asking several friends for help. At the moment of almost giving up, he makes a fabulous discovery, one of self-worth and self importance.
Crystal, Johnny’s Dad died and I wanted to know who would help me when I get bigger if my Mom and Dad were not around. I asked all my friends but I just haven’t heard an answer that made me feel better. Can you help me? Crystal thought for a moment and then said, “Tommy, your Mom and Dad are fine right now. But I understand that you are worried. It is nice that your friends listened to you and were willing to try to help. But I believe the answer is inside you. You will find it. Don’t give up!”
Cindy Amar lives in Miami, Florida. She was an elementary school teacher and guidance counselor for thirty-two years. She has worked with the Children’s Bereavement Center in Coconut Grove for twelve years. She presently participates in several volunteer activities, enjoys her family and friends, and loves to travel.
