Introduction My process of writing Empowered Healer has been a humbling one because I have not been the only one writing this book. The text, in a sense, has been writing me, the words pouring into my head, channeled from God, Source, Spirit, The Universe, The Energy Field, or whatever you choose to call this creative force. As author and teacher Barbara De Angelis once said to me, “God is your publisher. Spirit is your publisher.” Why has God wanted me to write this book? I’ve been guided to write Empowered Healer, Gain the Confidence, Power and Ability to Heal Yourself , to help you believe in your own power to restore yourself to wholeness. In fact, the “Empowered Healer” in the title is none other than you! It’s true. You are powerful beyond measure, a person with a complex mind that can think and process, who also has a spirit that speaks through intuition and a body with feelings and senses that want to be felt and listened to. You can become your own healer by reading the text, doing the exercises and downloading and listening to the CD for Parts I through IV: “Believe You Can Heal,” “Receive the Power to Heal,” “Achieve Self-Healing,” and “Perceive Greater Healing.” After all, you know how it feels to be healthy. You have the imprint of perfect health inside you; your very cells remember how wellness feels. With the help of this book, you can reclaim your right to wholeness, a right that is at the very root of the word heal, meaning “whole” and “holiness,” which is your birthright. To assist you in your healing, I want you to remember that you have a support team right inside you: your body, mind, and spirit. If you are truly paying attention, these three “friends” are speaking to you through your inner voice, your thoughts, your feelings and your senses. Earlier, I used the word remember because as a child you knew instinctively that the voices inside you told the truth. You didn’t think this consciously; your intuition, thoughts, and feelings were so much a part of you that listening was second nature. You could easily tell when you were happy, loved, safe, sad, angry, hungry, thirsty, tired, in need of a hug, in need of solitude, playtime and so on. When you listened to your intuition—which came partly from sensations in your body, from thoughts in your mind and a knowing sense from your spirit—you felt strong and in tune with who you were. Then, as you took action based on these feelings and thoughts, you felt even more powerful and in touch with yourself.
Susan Allison earned a doctorate in transpersonal psychology and maintains a private practice in Santa Cruz, California. She supports individuals and groups to change and to heal. Her mission is to help people become more empowered, transformed, and fulfilled. This is Allison’s third book.
