For Everyone is for you! The paintings and words inside these covers will take you on a journey of discovery as your inner child is stirred, awakened and given wings to fly. Getting to know your inner child is exciting, no matter what age or sex you are.
The thirty paintings in For Everyone are from a series by Australian artist Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox. Whilst observations of her children provided the initial inspiration, the paintings reach beyond the artist’s impulse, to stir and awaken the inner child who lives within us all.
In an age where electronic and digital media bombard us with images that cross our lines of sight fleetingly, the paintings in For Everyone inspire contemplation, again and again.
So, get ready to connect to your inner essence! No matter how many times you ponder the paintings, new insights and discoveries await, leading to questions you perhaps did not know to ask, and thus potentially finding answers you did not know existed.
Fourteen years have passed since I painted these thirty images. They have not been publicly exhibited during this period, but have been stored in an art folder. Occasionally I have taken them out to look at or to show friends. My initial inspiration came from observing my young children, but as time passed I heard a more universal calling of the inner child who lives within us all.
So, as you read the words and look at the paintings in For Everyone, conversations will ensue, either with yourself or with others. Conversation has the capacity to ignite compassion. In this increasingly globalised world, in which we live locally, compassion for ourselves and others is an essential basis for co-operative relationships. It nurtures our individual inner essence, and thus all of humanity, enabling us to hear, see and feel things we did not know existed.
For Everyone is for all of you. No matter who you are, I hope the paintings speak to your core essence, where the small voice on your inner child sings. This kind of listening may just make the world a better place for everyone.
